Lecture – “You be the Judge”
In this lecture, I discuss the judging process, my journey through the certification process, and what judges are looking for in winning quilts. Then you and your guild get to try your hand at judging some of my own quilts. Can your guild pick the best in show!
Lecture – “Tales of a Postmodern Quilter”
In this lecture I describe my quilt journey from a teenager to certified judge. I use a combination of slides and a trunk show of some examples of my work. I also discuss why I believe that I am a postmodern quilter and show that you can have an appreciation of all types of quilts.
Lecture – “How to Make your Scrap Quilts Sing”
In this lecture I discuss how to tame your scrap pile, how to make scrap quilts look coherent and help tell a story. How to use common size elements for storage and help create quilt blocks that fit well together. I go through some specialized rulers that also pair well with standardized cuts. I bring example of scrap quilts to show.
